In Celebration of Veterinarians Everywhere!
In celebration of World Veterinary Day - YAY! VETERINARIANS! If you are a pet owner, than you know how essential it is in finding a good veterinarian. I had 2 yellow labs who I adored (hence the YAY! DOGS!). I became their momma when they were 2 years old. They were brother and sister, and were named Elvis & Priscilla. Priscilla was the alpha and Elvis was the runt, ironically though Elvis was an Elvis. He was a lover, and he so liked to prance around especially when walking himself on the leash. He would carry his own leash until his mouth would quiver, like Elvis would do with one shake of the hips and a deep "Uh-huh-huh." Priscilla liked to eat bugs, and would go berserck when we would start buzzing, "Bzzz" Bzzz", she would jump head first into bushes looking for bugs. Their was never a dull moment with those two as they always made me laugh. Although they had a youthful appearance, Priscilla had been suffering from diabetes, and Elvis from cancer, my veterinarians tried everything they could think of, but despite all our efforts, we could not regulate insulin levels or remove the cancer. Since they had spent their whole lives together, I decided that they should pass together. My veterinarians were so compassionate and fully supported my decision. They even came to my house when it was time for them to go. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make. But I knew it was time. I couldn't have made that decision without their support, assuring me I did everything I could have done to make their lives better. Thank you to Veterinarians everywhere for taking care of our beloved animals, easing our concerns, and going above and beyond when necessary for us and our fine furry friends. You are so appreciated! This year's World Veterinary Day theme is "Vaccination to prevent and protect", you can find out more information here
