Carl and I just returned from the Chicago gift show. We had a great time! The food was excellent, the people were friendly and the sights were awesome. Here are some photos from our trip. The Chicago Merchandise Mart. Completed in 1931 it was the largest building in the world then with 4million square feet! The view from the Mart. What we encountered while walking to our hotel. Critical Mass, a bicycling event that occurs in over 300 cities across the world on the last Friday of every month. YAY! BIKES! Then it was off to Lou Malnati's for what most people say is the best pizza in Chicago. YAY! PIZZA! Then we took a boat tour of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. This is the view of Navy Pier and the Chicago skyline from Lake Michigan. The placard for a public art installation called "The Heart" by Erik DeBat And the art . . . . Then it was time to head back to Denver, but we thought this was worth a mention. Carl and I travel with stainless steel water bottles to refill while we travel and look what we found in the Chicago Midway airport. Wish more airports had these. We love you Chicago! By the way, there was some work thrown in there between the eating and the sightseeing!
